Father Julius Palit MSC from the Indonesian Province passes away in Manado, Indonesia |
MANADO, Indonesia - Father Julius Palit passed away on July 7, 2008, in Manado, Indonesia. He is from the Indonesian Province. Father Palit was born on April 12, 1945 and he made his first vows in the Congregation on August 15, 1967 then was perpetually professed on August 15, 1971. He was ordained priest on December 18, 1972.
Fr. Palit is known to our MSC confreres in the Indonesian Province as a very simple man, a real role model for our MSC confreres in the province, someone who has a heart for the poor and for his confreres in the community. One of our MSC Confreres from the Indonesian Province described him as someone who was always close to people, a father figure in the communities where he lived and worked, someone who was always very obedient, a quiet achiever. In fact, Fr. Palit has served in the Indonesian Province as Vice Provincial, then was appointed as Superior of the District of Manado. He also worked as a Parish priest in the diocese of Manado and in the Archdiocese of Jakarta. While in Jakarta, he was appointed as the Superior of the Provincialate community. His last appointment was at the MSC Scholasticate in Manado where he worked faithfully as bursar and as a Spiritual Director for the MSC students.
