The Spanish Province sells the Property in Logroņo |
 LOGROŅO, Spain - On
April 8, 2008, we have signed, with the City Council of Logroņo, in
public writing, the exchange of our house of Logroņo for a land. With
this act we officially end our presence in this house and in the city
of Logroņo. The MSC presence in the city of Logroņo
initiated in 1929. The Year in which a part of the current building
was built, then was expanded in the fifties. This community
was most of its life the Scholasticate of the Province of Spain.
Towards the end of the sixties, the students were transferred to Madrid
and then to Valladolid to do their Theological studies. Then
the house was occupied by the youths of the last phase of the
P.O. In the eighties this activity also ended and it became a
house for retreats and meetings. The property,
acquired by the City Council of Logroņo, will be aggregated to the
University of la Rioja and its chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of the
Sacred Heart, will be maintained like the headquarters of the
university pastoral activity. |

Jules Chevalier (1824-1907) was a man of his time. He was convinced that the Jesus he found in the Gospels was a person of deep compassion and understanding. 
Through her union with Jesus, Mary knows the unsearchable riches of his Heart and wants to lead us to him, who is the source of a limitless love that gives birth to a new world. 
Fr. Jules wanted to found a missionary Society that would have as its purpose to bring Gods compassionate and merciful love to human beings as the remedy for the evils that afflicted society.
